It is important that a volunteer organization like Boy Scouting provide appropriate recognition for the time, energy, skills and participation of it's members. The way we do this in San Tan District is with attendance recognition beads.
The year begins in August. When you attend Roundtable each month you will be given a colored bead specific to each month. We meet nine times each year. In May, our last meeting you will be able to exchange your monthly beads for an annual bead. Eight beads with your attendance in May indicates you have perfect attendance. You will be able to exchange the eight beads for a gold bead. Seven beads are exchanged for a silver bead. Six beads are exchanged for a Bronze bead. These annual beads will be placed at the bottom of the bead lanyard. In two or three years the District will provide an annual bead lanyard to hold the increased number of beads and other awards and recognitions will be given for those who consistently attend the monthly Roundtable meetings.
If you are a new leader starting in any month except August you will be given a white bead which gives you full attendance credit for previous months and qualifies you for the gold, silver or bronze beads based on attendance since you joined Scouting for the first year. During your first Roundtable (other than August) pick up two beads a monthly colored bead and a white bead.
For those missing the May Roundtable, we'll reconcile annual beads in August. We asked that all monthly beads be given back in May or August so we can recycle them for use the next year. Keep your lanyards to be used the following year too.

The San Tan District Roundtable Yahoo Group email distribution list is primarily for the exchange of information and requests to share resources and mutually beneficial activities. Examples of good use cases include the following.
Troop 123, "We have an activity planned for the 21st of the month and need several pioneering poles, does anyone have poles they can lend to us? We'll pick them up on the 20th and return them on the 22nd."
Troop 789, "We bought 1,000 feet of 1/4" lashing rope at a very good price and would like to sell 500 feet to another troop. Is anyone interested in all or part?".
Do not use this distribution group for personal or business promotion or for non-scout related subjects. Exception might be to tell others of a sale on scout related equipment from a locale or on-line store. When responding make a reply to the sender only. This will reduce unnecessary messages sent to the entire group.
